The Holy Spirit is Critical in our Decision Making

Howbeit when He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth…He will shew you things to come.” – John 16:13 (KJV)

Every day, we make critical decisions which have either positive or negative effects not only on the present but also on the future. Therefore, as much as possible, it is important for us to have the right attitude: be prayerful, patient, and positive whenever we approach decision-making and think seriously about the consequences of each decision made.

It, therefore, means that we need to employ certain critical components in our decision-making, such as wisdom and discernment. In addition to these, we need to be properly guided. God gives wisdom from above when we ask Him (James 1:5). We can also benefit from the wisdom given by experienced and trusted counsellors. Importantly, however, we need the Holy Spirit to give us understanding and insight in order to make good judgements, and He will also serve as our Guide.

Our heavenly Father is concerned about every area of our lives, and He wants us to make good decisions for the present and the future. Thus, He has made this possible via the inspired Word of God (the Bible) and the work of the Holy Spirit, Who is our Friend and Guide. Tap in today to these available resources.

Prayer

Father, I come before You today. You know I have some very important decisions to make that affect both my present and future. Thank You for Your Word, which will guide me to the truth. I also pray that the Holy Spirit will give me wisdom, insight, and understanding as to what to do, when to do it, and how to do it. I ask all these things in Jesus’ name, Amen.
